Poland's First Link-to-Pay App
Full-stack delivery of a consumer mobile app that lets users request payments via a simple link - built entirely on Fizen's Open Banking infrastructure.
PYK
The Challenge
Poland had no 'link to pay' application - despite 18.9M active BLIK users and a mature mobile payments market. Every European country with a similar product (Tikkie in Netherlands, Swish in Sweden, Bizum in Spain) achieved mass adoption. PYK needed to fill this gap: build a consumer-grade app where the payer doesn't need to install anything - just click a link, pick a bank, and pay.
The key constraint: zero friction for the payer. No app download, no registration, no account creation. Open a link in the browser, select a bank from 14 available, confirm payment via SCA. Money goes directly bank-to-bank - PYK never touches funds.
Our Approach
We designed and built the entire product from scratch - mobile app, backend API, payment page, and all Open Banking integrations.
React Native Mobile App
- Cross-platform iOS + Android with Expo
- Payment request creation with amount & description
- QR code generation for in-person requests
- Push notifications for payment confirmations
- Bank account linking via Fizen AIS
- SMS OTP authentication flow
Payment Page & PIS Integration
- Next.js payment page for link recipients
- Bank selection UI with 14 Polish banks
- PSD2 PIS flow via Fizen (Meest Transfer license)
- SCA redirect and confirmation handling
- Real-time payment status tracking
- Zero-install experience for payers
Backend Infrastructure
- Fastify + TypeScript API server
- PostgreSQL with Prisma ORM
- GCP Warsaw (europe-central2) - data in Poland
- Firebase FCM push notifications
- SMSAPI.pl integration for OTP
- GDPR-compliant data architecture
Open Banking Integration Layer
- Fizen AIS for bank account verification
- Fizen PIS for payment initiation
- 90-day PSD2 consent renewal automation
- Anti-fraud through AIS-only account linking
- Multi-bank support across 14 institutions
- Production-grade under Meest Transfer KNF license
The Outcome
A fully production-ready, App Store and Google Play-published mobile application - Poland's first and only 'link to pay' product. Every transaction flows through Fizen's licensed Open Banking infrastructure, making PYK both a consumer product and a strategic volume driver for Fizen's AIS/PIS platform.
